Everything a meal can tell you
Three REST endpoints for meal analysis, diet quality, and daily nutrition targets. Use them individually or together in your product or study.
Meal photo analysis
Identify foods and estimate portions in grams from one photo, with an optional description. Enable streaming to show progress as the meal is analyzed.
POST /v1/dietai24
65 nutrient values
Meal analysis includes calories, macros, vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids per food and in meal totals, with FNDDS food codes for traceability.
POST /v1/dietai24
Diet quality scoring
Send meals with food codes and grams to get an HEI-2020 score for a day or longer period, with component averages and a daily breakdown.
POST /v1/hei
Daily nutrition targets
Calculate energy, macro, and micronutrient targets from a body profile, activity, and goal using the Dietary Reference Intakes.
POST /v1/goal
From API key to first meal in minutes
No models to host, no food database to license, no nutrition math to maintain.
Create a key
Sign in to the platform and create a key on the API keys page. Save it in your server environment.
Send a meal
Send a photo with an optional description from your backend or study pipeline, using Bearer authentication.
Use the nutrients
Receive JSON with foods, portions, and nutrient totals. Use the food codes and grams to score diet quality.
Numbers you can trace back to a source
Meal analysis maps identified foods to USDA FNDDS codes and calculates nutrients from estimated portions. Diet scoring uses HEI-2020, and daily targets follow the Dietary Reference Intakes.
Developed at Emory University from the DietAI24 study, published in Communications Medicine, and extended to micronutrients by NutriMLLM. Read the research โ
Designed for products and studies alike
No stored request content
NutriCamp discards inputs and results when the response ends. Photo analysis uses OpenAI under its API data policies; HEI and goal requests stay on NutriCamp servers.
Research-grade output
FNDDS food codes, nutrient keys with explicit units, and HEI-2020 scores support dietary analyses.
Simple to integrate
REST over HTTPS, Python and TypeScript clients, and optional live meal-analysis progress. Keep API keys on your server.
